Transfer Steam Games To GOG With GOG Connect

June 2, 2016

GOG, Good Old Games, has been on my radar for quite some time, but I’ve never gotten around to buying anything from them. They offer DRM-free versions of classic and recently released games at competitive prices. I’ve grown accustomed to using Steam for all my PC games, and I have yet to find a close alternative. GOG’s latest initiative, GOG Connect, could net them some new customers, myself included.

GOG Connect allows you to connect your Steam and GOG accounts so you can transfer select Steam titles to your GOG library. At the time of writing this article there were 23 titles eligible for the transfer process, and apparently more are on the way. I saw three games that would be eligible for a transfer from my account, but I’m wondering if I really want to create another account…

I’ll probably end up creating an account, especially if more games are added to the list. The initial offering of 23 titles is a little slim, but you can’t really argue with free games. Here’s a link to the GOG Connect page. Do you see any of your Steam games on the list?
